Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.[jargon] In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search,[1] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

Onsite Optimisation

On-site optimisation is the process of altering your actual website in order to make it more search engine friendly. I.e. So that search engines can easily find your website and consequently rank it higher in google search results.

Site Analysis

The process of analysing a given site to determine how positively/negatively search engines view that website. This analysis determines the amount of on-site optimisation that is required for the given website.

Social Media

Social media essentially is a category of online media where people are talking, participating, sharing, networking, and bookmarking online. Most social media services encourage discussion, feedback, voting, comments, and sharing of information from all interested parties.

Social Media can involve anything from sharing an email through a mailing list through to creating an active user base on on a blog or social networking site such as Blogger or Facebook

This involes creating a public page or account on a given Social Network such as Facebook. Then building a user base for the given page/account through which potential customers/clients can interact in real time with each other. Effectively creating an online community for people be a part of.

Link Building

The process of getting relevant inbound links to your website from good quality and highly ranked websites. This is one of the many factors that can contribute towards a higher position within search engines and can help to increae the amount of internet traffic to your site

Search Engine Submission

The process of getting your website listed amongst the search results for major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Keyword Analysis

The process of analysing the best key words to optimise your site for. This is in order to determine which search terms your website should be marketed under. For example joeblogs.com might be optimised for the keywords 'joe blogs' and 'generic name'. This would mean that joeblogs.com would feature quite high up in Google search results for the given keywords if a successful SEO campaign was undertaken.
